Course introduction

The “DGNB ESG-Manager Training” offered from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), is dedicated to equipping professionals with authoritative certification qualifications, enabling them to systematically manage DGNB – ESG verification processes and methodologies for new construction, retrofitting and building operation optimization projects and evaluating fixed assert (real estate) of companies.

The curriculum focuses on the deep integration of EU standards with local Chinese practices, addressing key topics such as ESG strategy and sustainable finance. This empowers participants to translate sustainable concepts into quantifiable, actionable and economically attractive business solutions. Through systematic professional development, attendees will master critical skills including the reporting and disclosure of sustainable performance for building assets.

Target audience

For all stakeholders across the financial + building sector value chain (including commercial companies and investors, architects consults and Chinese LDIs, project management and property management companies as well as industry park and district management and all relevant people in ESG field such as bank/ fund)

Training Objective

Upon successfully passing the relevant test, participants receive a formal DGNB QUALIFICATION. Qualification as DGNB ESG-Manager (INTERNATIONAL), formally certified and registered to audit and submit DGNB Building in Use and ESG Verification projects, delivering systematic sustainable strategies that meet ESG requirements for property owners and operators.

Holders of DGNB CONSULTANT (INTERNATIONAL) title are exempt from exam and automatically receive DGNB ESG-Manager (INTERNATIONAL) title after completion of training.

Ever since the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) were founded in 2007, the goal has been to promote sustainability in the building and property industry – and beyond – to foster greater awareness among the public. As the largest sustainable building cooperation network in Europe and the leading second-generation sustainable building certification system, DGNB already certified more than 12.000 projects in all over the world.

One key tool for achieving our aims is the DGNB -ESG Verification System – a catalogue of criteria for fixed assert (real estate) of companies and projects themselves writing ESG report and assessing assert.
